Winter is Coming

This year we’ve had the ninth warmest Summer since records began but that all started to end when Autmum announced itself with the worst storm since 1987, allegedly. Charliecaught a leaf, found some conkers, brought them into the office and now we are looking forward to digging out our fashionable winter garb, and settling into the mulled wine, hot toddies and general good times.

At putitout we've had a string of projects delivered recently and are very proud of the work we've been doing.  There's more detail on these below, however with this flurry of delivery, we're now looking for more!  Our dev team work right through Christmas and we’re currently taking on projects for delivery in January.

If you want to start 2014 ahead of the pack, give us a shout to discuss now.

Apps for Good

We’re doing it for the kids. Apps for Good is an open-source technology education movement which enables and encourages young people to think of digital solutions to helpsolve problems their communities face, the winning teams then get their ideas made by skilful and dedicated dev teams - like us!

Way back in July, Emma travelled to Nelson Thomlinson School in Cumbria to scope out one of the winning team’s ideas. A few months down the line and we’re well into production of Supportive Schedule - an app which helps people with learning difficulties and Alzhiemers plan their day. By setting tasks such as brushing teeth, and using a cash machine, this app not only helps enable individuals with organisational difficulties be more independent, but also helps the carers and the individuals add new tasks and track progress by allowing them to export the complete and non-complete tasks.

We are also building Social Bank for the winners at Mount Grace School in Potters Bar. This helps children to save money and visualise what they are spending it on. It is integrated with Facebook and Twitter obvs.

Rudy, one of our lovely Senior Project Managers, is overseeing these and the projects are to be launched at a glamorous launch party at the end of January.

Gluugle

We've recently launched Gluugle, a web and mobile application that helps celiacs find the best place locally to eat.

It uses the community to drive its data and reviews so that you are confident of finding a suitable Gluten free restaurant in London.

Southerly

Southerly are a brilliant content agency rocking strategy out of Battersea. A few months ago they asked us to build their new website for them - which we were delighted to do. The Southerly designers wanted to mix things up and given they specialise in content, the simple illustration works really well to convey this ethos. The site is a Drupal build, but more than that, it is afully responsive Drupal build, both on the design front AND the content side, so you can get what you need to know on the go.

W Short Hotel Group

Down under (Australia) where Christmas is in fact very hot and consists of barbequeing seafood before a midday surf, putitout have been busy building digital. The W Short Hotel Group have a number of fine establishments and we have already gone live with Scubar, The Glenmore and The Australian and now we have finished two more. Seabreeze went up a week ago as did their corporate website W Short Hotel Group.

Now that's done, let's put another shrimp on the barbie!
