WorkSnug is a company that connects mobile workers with the nearest and best working spaces in the world, primarily through an augmented reality application on the iPhone.
They have painstakingly trodden the streets of 13 (and counting) of the worlds major cities, visiting cafes, bars, libraries and just about anywhere that has an internet connection. For each of these places they make an entry that lists what the place may be like to work from should you find yourself caught in town, laptop under arm needing WiFi and somewhere to do an hours work.
WorkSnug set up the company last year and quickly launched an iPhone app. There were limitations in terms of functionality and design of the application and so they chose us as their mobile technology partner to work with on an ongoing basis. We created a number to functional changes to the application, dynamic data feed, allowing any changes to the database to be reflected in all the cities the app is functional in. This also allows for the community to play a greater and greater part in compiling the database of places. We also added a decibel meter to allow users to take reading of ambient noise in different places.
The entire application was given a rebuild, redesigned from the ground up, and approved first time by Apple within 10 days of submission.
We will be meeting with WorkSnug regularly to evaluate application feedback. There are several updates in the pipeline.
