PUT IT ON

With a late summer flourish the tunes in the office have taken a new prominenance.  With another client evangalising that we should all think more about the music that represents us (more to follow on that after launch later this month) we have been inspired to show off the sounds that represent putitout over the past month.

Celeste had the wonderful idea of sharing our faveourite tracks each month and building up a playlist.  See this month's winners below and check back at the end of the month to see how October has treated us.  You can follow our Spotify playlist as it grows here.

Who: AJ
What Track: Julio Bashmore - Battle for Middle You
Why: In the early hours of the morning at Glastonbury this summer, this tune stopped me in my tracks. It took a good 2 months to identify it. Since then it's been on a steady rotation throughout September! Killer bassline and overall just an unparalleled summer groove! Jam.

Who: Katie
What Track: Kelly Rowland ft Lil' Wayne - Motivation.
Why: Kelly Rowland is smashing it, she is for sure my favourite x factor judge. Also, this month I have been reviewing and working on my motivation, it's all very relevant. Plus Lil' Wayne is the boss.

Who: Chris
What Track: Olly Murs feat. Rizzle Kicks - Heart skips a beat
Why: Perhaps because he was so excited about going to Oktoberfest, hence not submitting his reasoning

Who: Charlie
What Track: Dick in Dixie ~ Hank III
Why: I 'discovered' Hank the third in Austin Texas, at a gig he did at 'Emo's'.  We stood in the crowd behind the Boozr fighters, a shaven head tatooed motorcycle club, all part of the fun. He's a bit ill mannered, but has ignited a love for Country that I didn't know was there.  Beware, explicit lyrics.

Who: Celeste
What Track: Given to fly - Pearl Jam
Why: There is a new documentary directed by Cameron Crowe, called Pearl Jam 20. So I have a Pearl Jam revival lately ;-)

Who: Eric
What Track: Los Campesinos - 'You! Me! Dancing!'
Why: Because it never fails to make smile and want to jump around. Also, how can you not love a band with a name that makes them sound like they are Mexican outlaws but are really from Wales (though none of the members are Welsh).

Who: Ross
What Track: Lions On The Beach by Cloud Boat (snippet/full track)
Why: Lovely new 2-steppy track from Cloud Boat on label that brought us so many amazing artists, R&S Records.

Who: Ed
What Track: Zorbing - Stornaway [spotify link]
Why: The first line: 'Conkers shining on the ground, the air is cooler and I feel like I just started Uni.'  Best time of the year.  It's also an awesome song from an awesome Oxford band.  I like this game.
