Part of our very good friends at Portland’s expansive network resides in Africa. This is known as the, “Africa Network,” what the project entailed was for The Africa Network to be added onto the Portland website.

 

What Portland were very keen on having the full map of Africa with a type of, “dropped pin,” interface in order for prospective clients to understand both aspects of Portland’s experience in Africa, from both a partnerships side, but also from a previous experience perspective.

 

As with all projects, a few inevitable challenges occurred, one of the issues was maintaining browser compatibility throughout. Given the interactive African map outline was built in JavaScript, we had to ensure there were no errors for any user, over all browsing platforms.  

 

There were times when we didn’t know all of the information for certain aspects of the project, the way we managed this was to build what we knew, and ensure we went back to fill in the blanks, ensuring the quality of the end product wasn’t affected.
