For the past 5 days I have been working with putitout for my work experience. I am 15 (year 10) and I live in Cornwall so traveling up to London has been a great adventure for me.
Before I came up I expected to have a better understanding of life in the city and working in media by the end of it, which I definitely got. It’s interesting to see what other people do in the week. Everyone here has been incredibly friendly and helpful so I was kept busy throughout.
So far I have been doing a range of tasks for the company. Firstly I have been putting together the most recent Top Of The Apps and Put It On blogs for the website. This includes finding out what the team’s favourite songs and apps are so it was good to get to know them. I was also researching quotes for the company and producing an excel spreadsheet listing different charities for a project of theirs.
On Thursday night there was the summer rooftop party so I also did some event planning for that on Monday and Wednesday. It was nice to talk to the team out of the office that evening and get to know them.
I am very grateful for the opportunity to work here as it has been great and I’ve got a lot out of it. I now have an idea of what is it like to work in an office environment (and in London), and a better understanding of how mobile apps and websites are made.
Thanks to everyone in the team for having me in the office, it’s been great!
