My Work Experience - Mark Bailey

I have been with the putITout team in London for 3 days as part of my work experience.

I'm a transition year in Ireland and travelled to London for the week to do the work experience with putITout, I'm 15.

Monday and Tuesday I worked with We Love Mobile one of putITout's clients in the TEA Building.  While with We Love Mobile I tested 3 games on several different handsets and tested a new e-mail service in different languages.

Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday I was with the putITout team in their London office. With putITout, I updated their facebook with the case studies from this website, filed for an afternoon, updated images and script for an app so that it changed language with the language preference of your handset, learnt some basic photoshop with AJ, and posted some apps to whiteapp.

Part of my experience in putITout was to write an article on the website about my time in putITout and my Top 10 apps.. so here it goes.!

1 - Angry Birds, probably the most addictive iPhone game ever made! Even after you play and clear it once you still play it again and again.

2 - Nimbuzz, this app combines my MSN and facebook chat, it keeps my signed in if running in the backround which the MSN app does not, and also works perfectly on 3G with the facebook app lacks.

3 - Viber, how could I not love an app that makes free calls to other users with the app, its available on android and iPhone which covers the majority of handsets that people my age have.

4 - Google Goggles (its in the google app), it amazes me how google scan the image and you get surprising solid results.

5 - WorkSnug, augmented reality gets me everytime, I love how well the accelerometer and compass work on my iPhone4 , and its so handy if you want Wi-Fi on the go to send large e-mails or just check a non-mobile website quickly!

6 - Sky+, finally an app that I can check what’s on my sky box and record on the go, Ireland lacked an app to check this until now.

7 - Photofunia,  This app is just fun it uses face recognition to put ur face into different background, with a large selection of backgrounds to choose from.

8 - Ninja Jump, a good game that you can play when you have a few minutes spare and you won’t get overly addicted to as its one level that you just better yourself.

9 - Word Lens, I never use word lens except to say hey look at this, but it still is an amazing app!

10 - Google Maps, this app is standard but has saved me a lot of time that I would have been lost if I didn’t have google maps to turn to.

...and I've just been told I'm being taken to Apple's head office to have a tour form a friend of Charlie's to finish my week :-))

Thank You For Reading!
